Why this is actually safe

Most free "redact" tools just draw a box over the text — the original text is still hiding underneath and can be extracted by copy-pasting or with a script (this is exactly how several real-world document leaks happened). This tool works differently: every page is converted into a flat image before your black boxes are burned in, and the exported PDF is rebuilt entirely from those images. There is no original text left in the file to recover. The trade-off: text in the exported PDF (including parts you did not redact) is no longer selectable or searchable, and the file size will be larger than the original.
